Project Blogger, a real estate blogging competition created by ActiveRain and sponsored by Inman News, officially kicked off on Monday, April 9, 2007.

The competition consists of 13 blogging teams in which an experienced coach takes on a blogging apprentice and shows him or her the ropes of real estate blogging.

The top blogger team will be crowned winner of the competition at Inman News' Real Estate Bloggers Connect conference in San Francisco, July 31-Aug.1, 2007. ActiveRain will donate $5,000 to the winning team's charities of choice. The blogging coach and apprentice will each be allowed to direct $2,500 of the $5,000.

And speaking of charities, here is one of mine: Pasado's Safe Haven, an animal sanctuary in the State of Washington. I first learned of Pasado's during their animal rescue effort following Hurricane Katrina. Charity Navigator, America's premier evaluator of charities, has awarded Pasado's Safe Haven its highest rating, receiving a 4-Star Rating - for three consecutive years.
